As a proud Newy Granny Grommets, I’m taking part in this year's NGG Big Freeze to help fundraise for FightMND as some of our own have been affected by and/or living with motor neurone disease (MND).

The Newy Granny Grommets are a social community of women who boogie board each Friday morning at Nobbys Beach, Newcastle, and are committed to helping each other and others.

Why did we choose this particular charity to support when GGs is full of amazing women with incredible stories of their own?
My personal connection to MND started with my cousin's husband being diagnosed with, battling to live with, and passing away from MND. Since then I have been fortunate to meet Sue and Louise who have husbands currently battling this disease.
As a community we are taking part in this ice challenge on our first anniversary to raise funds to help fight MND.
