As proud Newy Granny Grommets, we are taking part in this year's DIY Big Freeze to help fundraise for FightMND as some of our own have been affected by and/or living with motor neurone disease (MND).
The Newy Granny Grommets are a social community of women who boogie board each Friday morning at Nobbys Beach Newcastle, and are committed to helping each other and others. We feel the need to participate in this national fundraiser to raise awareness and donate money to help find a cure for this terrible disease, as at this stage there is not one.
Newy Granny Grommets are invited to take part, and ask family and friends to sponsor them, in the NGG Big Freeze on Friday 30th May at Nobbys Beach at 8.00am.
WHAT IS OUR NGG BIG FREEZE?
GGs are to form into GG pairs. Grab a GG Buddy, a bucket of ice + seawater, and join our NGG Circle on the beach ready to start.
With the count off from our own GG Countess, one person will start and pour the bucket content over their partner. This will lead to a Mexican Wave around the circle. At the completion of the first wave buddies will swap positions, refill buckets and begin the sequence again to complete the NGG Big Freeze.
We would like to invite all NGGs to register as a Team Member, and encourage your family and friends to sponsor your NGG Big Freeze.
All donations will be accepted through your Team Member Page, which will be linked to the Newy Granny Grommet Team Page. No money will be accepted on the day.
