I'm challenging 27 to fight MND
Hi there,
This September, I’m taking part in FightMND’s Challenge 27 — walking 27 minutes a day, every day — not just to meet a wellness goal, but to honour someone who was incredibly special to me: my mom, Cathy.
This December marks ten years since she lost her courageous 8-year battle with ALS, an aggressive form of Motor Neurone Disease. Rather than let the lead-up to that anniversary be filled with sadness, I want to channel that emotion into something meaningful — to challenge myself, to raise awareness, and to be part of the fight for a future without MND.
Challenge 27 represents the average life expectancy of someone diagnosed with MND — just 27 months. My mom, a true force of nature, defied those odds with strength, grace, and fierce determination. Walking each day in her memory is my way of continuing her fight and showing that the battle doesn’t end with loss — it transforms into action, into hope, and into love.
I’d be so grateful for your support as I take on this challenge - for my mom, and for everyone still facing the Beast.
