I'm challenging 27 to fight MND
Hi there,
I'm taking part in FightMND's Challenge 27 to challenge not just my wellness goals, but also the Beast and be part of the fight towards a world free from MND.
Challenge 27 is a powerful reminder that the average life expectancy for someone diagnosed with MND is just 27 months.
If you can, please support me by donating to my page. Every dollar counts, and all funds raised go to support FightMND’s mission to find a cure for motor neurone disease.
Your support means a lot to me!
Thanks!

Doing it for Dave, my Dad - It takes a village!
Monday 1st SepLast September, our world changed when Dad was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Since then, we’ve watched a once incredibly fit and active man face a journey that has gradually taken away his independence. Yet, everyday he fights this disease with remarkable determination, strength, and grace. His attitude inspires us all.
One of the most special moments recently was seeing Dad attend my son’s Wedding—something he was determined not to miss. That day brought us all joy, and we were reminded again of the power of love, family, and resilience.
Dad’s faith remains his anchor in this season. It brings him comfort and purpose, and it’s a testament to the courage he shows each day. He is the most courageous and humble person I know.
You may wonder why I'm undertaking challenge 27. The purpose is to raise awareness about this disease.
As a family, we're currently navigating the advanced stages of this condition with my father. One of his key wishes was to remain at home for as long as possible, which requires a collective effort to facilitate. My Dad has an excellent team of carers and providers, I'm deeply grateful for their ongoing care and support. However, the allocated funding hours are insufficient to meet his needs, and it's my mother, our family, and the our village that provide around-the-clock care.
MND Tasmania/Victoria has been instrumental in providing my Dad with essential equipment, support, and resources. I'm extremely proud of our son Kyron who has almost raised $8000 in direct fundraising for them by participating in the Melbourne Marathon this October. This is giving back just a little of what they've provided for us in caring for my Dad
The phrase 'it takes a village' is so true as everyone plays a role, and we're thankful to be surrounded by such a caring and supportive community of family & friends.
Today, I think of all the individuals living with MND and their families and friends who support them, we're so grateful for the direct support MND provides to those affected by this devastating disease.
So this is why i’m doing challenge 27. Let’s do this!
