I'm challenging 27 to fight MND

Hi there,

I'm taking part in FightMND's Challenge 27 to challenge not just my wellness goals, but also the Beast and be part of the fight towards a world free from MND.

Challenge 27 is a powerful reminder that the average life expectancy for someone diagnosed with MND is just 27 months.

If you can, please support me by donating to my page. Every dollar counts, and all funds raised go to support FightMND’s mission to find a cure for motor neurone disease.

Your support means a lot to me!

Thanks!

Day 27

Saturday 27th Sep
Finished! What an amazing 27 days this has been. Thank you for your fabulous donations- every dollar helps in the fight to find a cure and to support our friends and family living with MND. The motto 'never give up' inspired me every day, to complete the challenge I set out to do. I had a few curve balls to doge along the way (mum in hospital, Magpies swooping, just to name a couple!) but my determination did not waiver. To Brad, I hope team 'Bead Things' getting together for Challenge 27 and the MND Walk warms your heart & soul to know that you have the support of your family & friends through your own challenge of MND 💙🩵💙🩵💙

Day 26

Friday 26th Sep
Out for another adventure today. I ran from Shelly Beach to Bass & Flinders and back (twice!). Heaps of people walking, running and e-biking on the Esplanade and the beaches were packed. An awesome day but I'm glad I didn't have this hot weather to deal with early in the challenge! Tomorrow is my last day- I can't believe it's coming to an end! But OMG,  the support from everyone has been amazing. Thank you so much xxx

Day 25

Thursday 25th Sep
Well and truly on the home stretch now! My determination to finish this Challenge is as strong as Day 1. The amazing generosity of our supporters is both humbling and inspirational. Thank you so much- we will continue to fight to find a cure & raise awareness of MND and  support our friends and family living with this crappy disease.

Day 24

Wednesday 24th Sep
Well, I've managed to get to Day 24 relatively unscathed until....... Magpie season 😳. Starting at Burnum Burnum, I headed off to Bonnet Bay and before I knew I was being attacked! It came at me at least 4 times. There may have been a little bit of screaming but I'm sure it didn't scare him off but also, no one came to save me 😅. I armoured myself with some branches & leaves to get back to safety in Woronora. It must've looked hysterical 🤣

Day 23

Wednesday 24th Sep
A cracking day for a run from Como to Oatley and back. An absolutely gorgeous outlook from the bridge across the river. The Pleasure Grounds are so beautiful and peaceful- a lovely environment for an early afternoon run before the school rush 😅

Day 22

Monday 22nd Sep
Today was the first day that I felt a bit flat and procrastinated for about an hour before heading out. Ella came home & said it was starting to sprinkles so I flew out the door to beat the rain! As soon as I started running, I felt good & was cranky that I didn't go earlier. Another turn of events, I had to stop for a toilet break, and the rain started pouring down outside. When I hit the road again, the skies were clear. I made it home before the next storm front! All in all, a good outcome 💙🩵💙🩵

Day 21

Sunday 21st Sep
Well, the countdown is on! 21 down, with only 6 to go, but it's full steam ahead! Or should I say "as much steam as I can muster" 🤣. Looking forward to the week and hope to find a couple of new runs I haven't done yet in the Challenge. The morning started with a visit to mum, then to Ella's house to get stuck into the garden. Ran to Sutherland, then to Como and back up the hill to Jannali.

Day 20

Saturday 20th Sep
Woohoo! Day 20 sounds like a big number and yet we got here so quickly! Busy Saturday morning catching up with family & visiting mum in hospital. A local run around the basballl field and off to Sutherland. With just 7 days left, where will this adventure take me this week????

Day 19

Saturday 20th Sep
I've been making sure I vary my run each day so I dont get in a rut and keep feeling fresh. After indoor netty today, I went to Wanda carpark to run the Esplanade to Shelly Beach and back. It was a cracking day with lots of people out & about. A great opportunity to lots of pics of my adventures 💙🩵💙

Day 18

Saturday 20th Sep
Busy day visiting Wes and Jack in Albion Park. First stop Berry for coffee in the rain and then to Kiama for a walk and play in the park. As we were heading back to the car, a whale put on a fabulous display frolicking in the harbour 🐋l
An afternoon run up to Sutherland and back before heading off to see mum in hospital.

Day 17

Wednesday 17th Sep
How did we get to Day 17 so quickly? Another sensational day for a run. I started at Como Pleasure Grounds for a few laps before running over the bridge to Oatley Park and back. The body seems to be holding up so far 🙏. I don't dare start counting down the last 10 days - it might jinx me 😅

Day 16

Wednesday 17th Sep
So hot today! I left it 'till late afternoon for my run to try to stay out of the heat of the day. Ended up running in the dark 😅
Oh well at least I didn't trip over anything!
I did a loop run from Jannali to Sutherland back to Jannali.

Day 15

Monday 15th Sep
Week 3- I can't believe it!! Thie Challenge is giving me an extra drive to push myself and I'm feeling really positive about how it's going. Today I headed down to Burnum Burnum reserve, by the beautiful Woronora River. From Burnum Burnum I ran 3 laps of a circuit to Bonnet Bay. Simply a stunning environment 💙🩵💙🩵

Day 14 part 2

Monday 15th Sep
We headed off to Bulli to join our Brad Things team for the MND walk. All dressed in our matching shirts, we looked awesome!! It was wonderful to see so many people walking to defeat MND and never give up. Everyone has a connection and the community support warms your heart.

Day 14 part 1

Monday 15th Sep
A big day ahead with our MND walk, so I was up early and headed out for my 5km run. A stunning morning,  I started with some laps around the back baseball field. I came across a beautiful bloom of blue flowers (not quite the MND cornflower, but pretty close!) Back home for a shower and change to get ready for the walk!

Day 13

Sunday 14th Sep
Busy day, with a late afternoon run before heading out to dinner with my netty team! The man marking the lines for tomorrow's baseball game was cheering me on but was a little worried I would get dizzy with the amount of laps I was doing 😅

Day 12

Friday 12th Sep
After a fabulous day at the parade for the 200th anniversary of NSW mounted police, I rushed home for a quick run before heading out for some babysitting!
Still a lot of water around and I managed to get a little muddy today! Busy weekend coming up, but I can't believe we're nearly half way through our challenge and going strong 💪 🏃‍♀️💙

Day 11

Thursday 11th Sep
Here comes the sun! After 24 hours of torrential rain, the clouds have disappeared, so off I go 🏃‍♀️☀️. There's so much water everywhere and heaps of debris from the wind but it's great to be out pounding the pavement on Day 11.

Day 10

Wednesday 10th Sep
The warm and sunny weather couldn't last forever! Luckily I headed out at about 8am this morning. It was raining but nothing like the weather that was heading our way this afternoon! Not quite sure what my day looks like tomorrow but if think I'm probably going to get very wet 🤣
10 days in and I'm up to 57.69 kms!

Day 9

Tuesday 9th Sep
I thought I might be dodging the rain today, but aside from a few sprinkles the weather was clear and pretty warm. The last few days have been a hint of summer- I think I'm getting a bit of a tan! I'm really enjoying the daily runs, taking in our beautiful environment and being inspired by this amazing challenge.

Day 8

Monday 8th Sep
Week 2 here we come! Feeling OK so far so hopefully things stay that way! Went for a run over to Oatley today. It's the hottest day in months so I tried to keep out of the sun, running around beautiful Oatley Memorial Park chasing the shade of the trees as much as possible!

Day 7

Sunday 7th Sep
Here we are, 1 week in already! A late afternoon run after spending a fabulous day with family for Father's Day. The sunset was stunning leading to a beautiful full moon tonight. Let's hope the body & mind hold together for week 2, but so far so good 🤞

Day 6

Sunday 7th Sep
Another field run today before our netty GF. No luck on the court, but my determination to complete this challenge is stronger than ever! Thank you for supporting this challenge. Let's spread the word to raise awareness of MND & fight to find a cure to help as many people as we can 🙏

Day 5

Friday 5th Sep
I thought I should give the old joints a bit of a break from 'pounding the pavement ' today! So I headed over to the baseball field and ran a couple of kms on the back field and then moved on to the 'main arena' to complete my daily challenge.
Day 5 in the bag and still feeling pretty good 💙🩵💙🩵

Day 4

Thursday 4th Sep
It was a bit warm out there today, but a fabulous day for a run through Sutherland to Loftus and a beautiful view over the Woronora River. Our ribbon tree is looking fabulous. Thank you for supporting us 💙🩵💙

Day 3

Wednesday 3rd Sep
Another beautiful morning but I ended up with soggy socks, running around the baseball field! So headed off to Como instead, enjoying the gorgeous, sunny day 🏃☀️🏃☀️

Day 2

Tuesday 2nd Sep
Where will these little feet take me today?
Heading to Sutherland, flew past Club on East (but I promise I didn't stop for a bevvy 🫠) and back home to Jannali.
I spotted a few supporters along the way 💕💕💕

Day 1

Monday 1st Sep
What a fabulous day to start my Challenge! A couple of laps around the iconic Como Pleasure Grounds and then over the bridge to Oatley and back ☀️🏃‍♀️☀️🏃‍♀️
