Why We’re Taking on Challenge 27: Fighting Back Against the Beast

This month, we’ve committed to FightMND’s Challenge 27 - a challenge that pushes us to not only chase our own wellness goals, but more importantly, to take a stand against the BEAST and help fight for a world free from motor neurone disease (MND).

For us, this isn’t just another challenge. It’s personal.

We know firsthand the heartbreak of losing a loved one to this cruel disease - someone who has left a huge hole in our hearts and in our lives. That loss is the driving force behind why we’re stepping up. We want to honour their memory and help ensure that one day, no family has to go through what we did.

As part of Challenge 27, we’ll be walking 1 kilometre every single day for 27 days. Each step we take is a reminder of the strength and courage shown by those living with MND, and of the urgency to find a cure.

Challenge 27 is more than just a number - it’s a stark reminder that the average life expectancy for someone diagnosed with MND is just 27 months. That’s only a little over two years. It’s an incredibly short time for people to live, love, and make memories while facing such a devastating illness.

By joining this challenge, we’re not only testing ourselves - we’re standing with the thousands of Australians impacted by MND right now. And we’re helping raise funds for FightMND, an organisation dedicated to finding effective treatments and, one day, a cure.
