take on 27.
your way.
Take on 27 your way this September with Challenge 27 and help FightMND in the battle against the Beast that is motor neurone disease (MND).
Every move makes a difference. Each lift, kilometre, burpee, squat, tackle and goal brings us closer to a world without MND.
What is Challenge 27?
Running from 1 to 30 September, Challenge 27 is your opportunity to get active, raise funds and help FightMND work towards our vision of a world free of MND.
Why 27? Because the average life expectancy for someone living with MND is 27 months from diagnosis.
There is no rule on how to take on 27 your way. Just include 27 into your challenge goal. This can be going for a walk every day for 27 days, cycling 27 kilometres or trying 27 different exercises. The possibilities are endless.

Maree Sklavenitis
“I participated in the 27 Challenge for my mum who has been diagnosed with MND. It was a truly liberating experience and raising money for something so close to my heart was worth all the burpees and F45 classes”.
“I raised over $2,000 and finished feeling fitter and proud of my contribution to MND”.
Stev Lackovic
“I wanted to do something that would push my mental and physical limits, as the pain and discomfort I'd feel over the 27 days is nothing compared to the pain someone diagnosed with MND goes through"
“Stev had a very close connection to MND, as he lost his father to the disease in April 2023. Stev decided to take up the 2023 27 Challenge to raise awareness and funds to hopefully one day find a cure. He extended the challenge by running 270 km in 27 days. Stev successfully ran 10km a day, everyday and raised over $10,500 towards FightMND''.
Archie Payne
“Hey, I'm Archie, I'm 14 and I've organised 5 FightMND fundraisers over the last 4 years raising over $20,000. For my most recent 27 challenge, I completed a 27 km run. I love running, and I love helping people so it's a good combo for me. We all need to do more to help beat this beast of a disease, 27 months being the average life expectancy from being diagnosed is not ok, and it has to change. I just want other kids to know, don't let your age stop you from doing something to help others, if you're passionate about something, go all in”.
Team Efforts
Four members of the Moulton Family and a family friend took part in the 27 Challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for MND. They ended their challenge by walking 5km with their families and friends and hosting a fundraiser welcoming all members of their local town to take part . Their team raised over $6,500.
Ralph Horowitz
Ralph completed 27 Push ups for 27 days for his best mate who fought MND for 8 years – Phil O’Kefee
Phil has been a selfless hero for others, with his brain implant work simply astonishing.
