Earlier this year my beautiful mum Jen was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. It’s been a difficult and emotional time as we’ve started to understand what this means for her, and for all of us who love her. Each day brings new challenges, but also moments of strength and love.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a rare and aggressive illness that damages the nerves controlling movement. Over time, it takes away a person’s ability to walk, talk, eat, and eventually breathe. The average life expectancy is just 2 to 3 years, and there is currently no cure. It’s a devastating diagnosis—and urgently needs more awareness, research, and support.
This year, I’m joining the Big Freeze for a cold plunge to raise money for FightMND, a cause that is close to my heart. I’m doing this for my best friend—for her strength, her courage, and the love she shows every day.
All donations contribute to improving and providing care for people just like mum living with MND and backing the research that will one day lead us to a cure.
