ABOUT JORDAN

Jordan Early (42 years-old) grew up in Perth, after his parents migrated from Scotland, for a life in the sunshine. They thought it was paradise here. Jordan was a shy little bloke without masses of family in Australia, so with his mum Fiona, dad Frank and sister Anouska they formed a tight knit unit.

When he arrived at Hale School at the age of 10, he found some great mates and he blossomed from there. His friends from school are still some of his best friends today.  Jords was a natural athlete who played rugby, basketball, golf, athletics and surfed. He was in a school drama production, and is a talented musician with a beautiful singing voice.

Jordan went on to university at UWA, graduating with a commerce degree and (maybe more importantly) a whole group of new mates. He was a committee member at WA’s oldest registered charity Uni Camp for Kids, and it was here in his early 20s that he met the love of his life Joanna.

Joanna and Jordan spent the next 10 years travelling the world, living in London, Sydney, Granada and San Sebastian in Spain, and San Diego in the USA. In 2017 they moved back to Perth to get married and have their 3 children; 6 year old Seb, 4 year old Nina and 2 year old Keira.

Wherever he’s gone, Jordan has made close, life-long friends. A staple of many social circles, known for colourful pants, stories, great laugh and kind heart. He’s open, generous, self-deprecating, funny and you’d struggle to find anyone who’d say a bad word about him (except maybe his house master at school).

He has had his own incredible community support him through this diagnosis of MND and now he is driven to do everything he can to raise money for the Fight MND charity to help others. In his own words:

“I hope that one day a young mum or dad will walk into a neurologists office to receive a diagnosis of MND and will walk out of that room with the hope of a cure”.

Jord's DIY Big Freeze - SLIDERS ANNOUNCED

We are absolutely thrilled to announce this incredible line up of sporting stars and community legends taking part in Jordan's Big Freeze event. Each one of these superstars will be dressing up and taking the ice cold plunge all in the name of raising much needed funds for FIGHTMND.

John Worsfold – Ex West Coast Eagles Captain & AFL Legend
A premiership captain and Brownlow Medallist, John knows what it takes to lead a team through adversity. He’s sliding to honour Jordan’s fight against MND and is asking footy fans to rally behind him—every dollar you donate helps drive world‑class research and supports families facing this battle.

Alicia Molik – Tennis Champion
A former world No.
8 and Aussie Open finalist, Alicia’s competitive spirit is as fierce off the court as on it. As a mum herself, she understands Jordan’s journey and is sliding in solidarity—your gift Jords fundraising page goes straight to FIGHTMND’s life‑changing work.

Daisy Pearce – AFLW Superstar & Mum
With kids at the same school
, when Daisy heard about Jords diagnosis, she was one of the first to volunteer to take the plunge! As one of AFLW'S greatest leaders, she’s sliding to shine a light on MND—and every dollar you give helps bring hope to young families like Jordan’s.

Andrew Embley – Former West Coast Eagles
A club stalwart with 258 games for the Eagles and NormSmith Medalist in the 2006 AFL Grand Final, Embley thrived when the stakes were highest. On 2August, he’ll take the icy plunge alongside Jordan to help raise vital funds for FIGHTMND. Support Andrew’s slide with your donation—every dollar fuels groundbreaking research and brings hope to those and their families facing MND.

Jayde Taylor – Former Hockeyroo
A midfielder for the Hockeyroos with over 100 international caps, Jayde represented Australia at the 2012 London Olympics and helped secure gold at the 2010 and 2014 Commonwealth Games. She’s plunging into the icy pool on 2August to stand beside Jordan in the fight against MND—and to bring her champion spirit off the turf. Rally behind Jayde’s slide and donate today: every contribution pushes world‑class research forward and brings hope to those battling this disease.

Alec O’Connell – Headmaster, Scotch College
Jordan’s wife’s father and brothers all walked the halls of Scotch College, so Alec’s pride in his community runs deep. He’s challenging his fellow headmasters to the most spectacular ice plunge —and you—to help raise funds for FIGHTMND.

Dean Dell’Oro – Headmaster, Hale School
Jordan himself is a Hale Old Boy, and Dean’s behind him 100%. He’s diving in with true Hale spirit —and issuing a friendly gauntlet to Scotch College and Christ Church Grammar—to see who can deliver the most spectacular ice plunge!

Alan Jones – Headmaster, Christ Church Grammar School
As leader of one of Perth’s most prestigious boys’ schools, Alan’s throwing down the challenge to Scotch and Hale. He’s committed to seeing Christ Church Grammar take the title of most spectacular ice plunge in Jordan’s DIY Big Freeze Challenge!
