I am fundraising for FightMND!
Hi guys,
Over the month of May 2026, I am challenging myself to run 60km to raise money to support FightMND and help beat Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
Last year I met a man called Hobbo. He is a young father who lives in Mosman with his wife Annie and two young kids Lizzy (6) and Henry (4). Henry is friends with my little sister Florence at preschool. In June 2023, a week out from running a marathon, fit, strong and filled with plans for the future, Hobbo was diagnosed with MND.
MND is a rapid, progressive neurological disease that causes motor neurons in the brain and spinal cord to fail, leading to muscle weakness, paralysis, and loss of speech, swallowing, and breathing, with an average life expectancy of just 27 months.
Hobbo says, “I consider myself somewhat lucky in a bizarre way, I understand how ridiculous this sounds coming from a bloke, who can’t speak can’t walk and struggles to move. But I think it’s lucky that it wasn’t sudden like a car accident. I have a chance to say goodbye and make sure that I can impart what little wisdom that I have learned. I focus on what I can still do, not what I’ve lost. I know what matters now. Time. Love. Presence. I spend my days focused on my family."
It's so unfair that such a horrible disease can take the life of someone as amazing as Hobbo. Even though running 60km will be hard, it's nothing compared to the Hobden family's fight and everyone else suffering from this terrible disease.

Wednesday 27th May I had my brother and sister both come and ran with me last night after school. With my little brother running 5km by himself, and my sister doing 1.6km! Was really nice to have them running along side me as i got through another 6.4km. Share
