We're fundraising for FightMND
The Penrith Rugby Club proudly honours the memory of ormer players Peter Benson and Nathan Ridd, whose courage, resilience and determination in their battles with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) continue to inspire our rugby community.
On Saturday 18 July, when we take on Merrylands, the club will host its annual Big Freeze Round to raise funds and awareness in the fight against MND. We are joining communities across Australia in supporting the vital work of FightMND and helping to defeat the Beast that is Motor Neurone Disease.
MND is a progressive and devastating disease that gradually robs people of their ability to move, speak, swallow and ultimately breathe, with an average life expectancy of just 27 months following diagnosis.
Our commitment doesn't end on game day. On Sunday, club members, supporters and friends will also take part in a fundraising walk in support of NSW MND, helping to provide essential assistance and services to carers and families affected by the disease.
We invite our rugby family and the wider community to support this important cause. Every donation, no matter the size, helps improve care for those living with MND, supports research into more effective treatments, and brings us closer to finding a cure.
Thank you for your support. Together, we can honour Peter and Nathan's legacy and help defeat the Beast.
