Let's Hunt Down The Beast Together!
G'day, I'm Nigel.
On 20 August, I'll leave Daylesford and ride more than 20,000 kilometres around Australia as part of the MND Beast Challenge.
People keep asking me why I'd want to ride right around the country.
The answer's pretty simple.
Over the years I've met some incredible people through the forestry and timber industry. Too many of them, along with their families and mates, have had their lives turned upside down by Motor Neurone Disease.
Watching what they go through made me realise I couldn't just stand back and do nothing.
So I'm jumping on the bike.
This ride isn't about breaking records or ticking something off the bucket list. It's about starting conversations in towns and communities right around Australia, raising as much money as we can for FightMND, and showing every family living with MND that they're not fighting this battle on their own.
I'm incredibly proud to have the support of the forestry and timber industry behind this challenge. An industry built on hard work, resilience and looking after its own has come together to help turn one ride into something much bigger.
Every kilometre I ride represents the people we're riding for.
Every town we visit is another chance to spread awareness.
Every dollar donated goes directly to FightMND to help fund the research that's bringing us closer to better treatments and, one day, a cure.
