HELLO,
In just under five weeks, I’ll be taking part in a five-day, 690 km charity ride through the heart of South Australia in support of MND research.
The FightMND community, established by co-founder Neale Daniher AO, has been supported for years by close friends of mine, who have taken part since the inaugural ride. Seeing that commitment and the impact it has delivered makes it a real honour to be riding with the group this year.
The ride supports FightMND’s work to accelerate funding for research into motor neurone disease and to support those living with it. Since its inception, it has mobilised communities, families and riders across Australia in pursuit of progress against a disease for which there is still no cure.
The format is simple: five days on the bike, sleeping outdoors on football club ovals, then back on the saddle the next morning to do it all again. It’s very much zero to nothing 'all the gear, little to no idea' but training is well and truly underway.
