I'm cycling in the PedalCure4MND SA Tour!

I'm cycling for MND research!

Hi there!
Dad and I are at it again!
I am taking part in the PedalCure4MND South Australia Tour 2026 to help FightMND fund the best research to find a cure for motor neurone disease (MND). My goal is to raise $1000, and I’d love your support!

Over five days, I will be cycling across South Australia, all to raise much-needed funds in the fight against MND.

MND is a devastating disease that takes away a person’s ability to move, speak, swallow, and even breathe. There is no effective treatment or cure, but together, we can change that.

It only takes a minute to donate, and every dollar brings us closer to finding a cure. I truly appreciate your support.

Thanks!

Day 3 Willunga to Hahndorf (via Kersbrokk Hall)

Monday 9th Mar
Made it up Willunga Hill AGAIN and this time got to enjoy making it to the top. Yesterday was a blur.  D-gen group is awesome the laughs and connection are amazing.  Love how we help each other through every up and down.  Made it to Hahndorf where we all went out seperate ways to celebrate making it to this beautiful village.  Bus then delivered us to Tanunda where we stay for the next 2 nights!

Ride Day 2 - Dads bday!!

Monday 9th Mar
78 years young happy birthday dad!!
I can say we conquered THE HILL!!! Woohoo
Power of the mind is the saying of the night. Those that know me know this is how I live my life.
However, the day ended for me not far from home when I went over a ridge quite hard and I got my first puncture.  It felt like I was in sand.  I was so sad to be off the road and into the bus until I saw that the road was gravel and then I thanked the lord as I learnt some thinks about myself.  I DO NOT ride on gravel I like my knee caps where they are and I DO NOT ride down hills fast as I like my face where it is too!  So in the bus I missed the gravel and the 7km going back down Willunga Hill.
Happy to have my bike fixed tonight and heading to bed as I just learn we’re heading back up Willunga Hill again tomorrow!!

Official ride day 1 Norwood to Willunga (via Aldinga Beach)

Monday 9th Mar
Nerves steady.  Ready to get going now. Bring it on, whatever hill comes my way I’ve got this!!  Muggy as all get out, overcast, wet and grey.
So… that first hill was a)&t the heart, lungs and legs certainly knew they were alive and got a rude awakening (haha).
Happy to say we made it to Willunga Footy Club where we set up camp. Swags, tents and stretches everywhere.  The football club fed us and we got to listen to details on what the funds we are raising are doing in the world of research and care for those with MND.  Ritchie Porte was with us for dinner and is riding in the A team tomorrow up Willunga hill which he is crowned King of the Hill as he is the fastest man to go up it in 7 mins.  Let’s see how we go tomorrow with that 🥴

Day 1

Saturday 28th Feb
Day 1 of our PedalCure4MND adventure did not disappoint! Hail, a mini tornado, a powerless town, a pitch‑black pub, and a motel that’s… let’s say “full of character.” 😂 But we made it to Bordertown this morning and found the gorgeous new café “Grounded” granola, overnight oats, and great coffee saved the day. Next stop: Mount Barker! Adelaide Hills, here we come. 💙 A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated your support means so much and keeps us pedalling.

Final training ride with Muriel’s Mob Albury

Sunday 22nd Feb
What a special weekend back home in Albury. I got to visit my god‑daughter and meet her beautiful new baby girl 💕😇.  After hours of newborn cuddles I also squeezed in a couple of rides.  Yesterday Albury out to the weir and back and this mornings being my final training ride with Muriel’s Mob. This amazing group might not be riding this year, but their support for the cause is as strong as ever. We met at Muriel’s Café in David Street and headed out for a gorgeous scenic ride around Wodonga and the surrounds.

Now it’s just gentle spins through the week before the big ride kicks off on Sunday.

Thank you for backing this cause and helping us push closer to a future without MND. 💙
