We're fundraising for FightMND
Aberfeldie Primary School is taking part in this year's DIY Big Freeze to fundraise to help FightMND beat the Beast that is motor neurone disease (MND).
MND is a progressive disease that gradually takes away a person’s use of their arms and legs, their ability to eat and swallow, their speech and ultimately, their ability to breathe.… all in an average timeframe of just 27 months. Co-founded by AFL player, coach and 2024 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher, FightMND are running their 11th Big Freeze event this year, aimed at raising money and awareness for MND.
For our school Big Freeze event we will be having a whole school blue dress up and gold coin donation day on Monday the 16th of June. The event will culminate in a very special Big Freeze assembly where some teachers will get a bucket of ice water poured on their heads!
We will also be offering families a chance to donate more to FightMND through the QKR App. The QKR app can be downloaded from the App store (IOS) or GooglePlay (Android).
Thank you for standing with us in the fight against MND.
Warm regards,
Aberfeldie Primary School
