I'm fundraising for Daniher's Drive!

I'm taking part in the Daniher’s Drive, trying to fundraise to help FightMND in its mission to find effective treatments and one day a cure for MND. To accomplish this, I am part of a team and we would truly appreciate it if you could help by fundraising alongside us or donating to our page!
I am excited to be involved in 2025 as we travel through regional Victoria to raise awareness and much needed funds to continue the fight against MND.

A day of emotions
Sunday 9th Feb
Today started with a powerful reminder of Mate - a photo memory of him enjoying one of his absolute favourites: Sparkling Shiraz. Captured back in 2021, that image shows Mate relishing what would be his last taste of it. It’s a bittersweet snapshot that speaks volumes about a man who embraced life fully, even as he battled MND.
As the day unfolded, I couldn’t help but feel the weight of memories. With Dad's anniversary only 9 days away (though I’m still not sure “anniversary” truly fits the complexity of that day), emotions ran deep. As I drove to visit a dear friend, I was on the phone with another friend who was reminiscing about her own dad, whom she lost last year. There’s something healing about sharing these memories, even when they bring tears because it reminds us that we’re not alone in our grief.
I was already bracing for the emotions of the day as I was travelling to visit a close friend. Her husband is courageously battling pancreatic cancer, a stark reminder of how life can change in an instant, and how no one should have to endure watching a loved one struggle against a relentless disease.
In the lead-up to Daniher’s Drive 2025, our journey: Meandering for Mate will feature honest, raw, and sometimes confronting stories of Mate’s battle with MND. We want to share his journey not only to honour his memory but also to let others know they aren’t alone. By raising awareness of this cruel disease and rallying support, we hope to contribute to the ongoing fight against MND.
I’ll be officially announcing our team page on Dad's anniversary, and I invite you to follow along as we share more of Mate’s story in the coming months. Thank you for reading, for sharing in these moments of remembrance, and for standing with us in the fight against MND.
