2025 DIY Big Freeze

Amsleigh Park SRC Fundraiser for FightMND

Our SRC Team has decided to raise money for the FightMND foundation.

Founded in 2014, FightMND was established with the purpose of finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure for motor neurone disease (MND). MND is a progressive disease that gradually takes away a person’s use of their arms and legs, their ability to eat and swallow, their speech and ultimately, their ability to breathe... all in an average timeframe of just 27 months. Co-founded by AFL player, coach and 2024 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher, FightMND are running their 11th Big Freeze event this year, aimed at raising money and awareness for MND.

For our school Big Freeze event we will be having a whole school blue dress up and gold coin donation day on Friday the 13th of June. The event will culminate in a very special Big Freeze assembly where some teachers will get a bucket of ice water poured on their heads! All students who bring in a gold coin donation will go into the running to pour the water on a teacher’s head!

We will also be offering families a chance to donate more to FightMND through our school donation page. Our overall fundraising will decide how many teachers get iced (including our gold coin donation day)!

If we reach $100 we will ice one teacher, $200 we will ice two teachers, $300 will be three teachers and $400 or more will be four!

The more you donate the more teachers will get iced!
