WINTER SOLSTICE ICE CHALLENGE
WEEROONA BAY SWIMMERS
SUNDAY 21st JUNE at 7:30am sharp.
We will jump from the first landing and swim to the outer landing, walking or swimming back to pick-up your coats (conditions pending).
Swim attire - bathers and cap(s) with a cup (or so) of ice taken on entry.

Remembering Neale Daniher AO
Neale will be sadly missed. He inspired us all with his actions.
His tireless advocacy saw millions invested in vital research and care projects, creating hope for those living with MND.
His signature rally cry, PLAY ON, is louder than ever. As a community of open water swimmers – let us pay tribute to Neal as we SWIM ON.
I encourage every member of the Weeroona Bay swimming community to DONATE, no matter how little or large, and no matter if you participate in the Solstice Swim or not. And please handball the site link on to family, friends and other fellow swimmers.
We're fundraising for FightMND
At 7:30am on 21 June 2026, coinciding with the Winter Solstice, a group of passionate cold-water swimmers will gather at Portsea Pier. Dressed only in bathers and a single cap, participants will be showered in ice before entering the cold waters to swim to shore.
This initiative aims to raise both awareness and funds in support of FightMND’s mission to discover a cure for motor neurone disease (MND).
Donations can be made through this page. We encourage you to share the link with colleagues, friends, and family so that, collectively, we can help beat the beast that is MND.
