Contributions are still rolling in and we have just reached a massive $16,000.
Watching our school community come together in support of the inspiring Hobden Family and the fight against MND has been incredible.
Yesterday Ron spoke to students, teachers and parents from the heart, it was something none of us will ever forget.
Then AFL star Sam Reid, our very own school principle Mrs Barry, Ron's wife Annie and many of our wonderful teachers braved the icy waters of the dunk tank!

A huge thank you to every single member of our community who has got involved. Those who took the plunge, who proudly donned beanies & socks, who contributed to our fundraising and everyone who joined us in showing the Hobden's that they are not alone and together we can work towards a future without MND.

This cause is deeply personal to our family. I’m a proud dad to a beautiful daughter at Middle Harbour Public School, and not long ago, I was a healthy 35-year-old — training for a marathon and chasing the kids around the backyard. Then, I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). It has changed our lives, but it hasn’t touched our spirit. With the love and strength of my incredible wife and children, we are choosing to fight. We are choosing hope. And we’re so grateful to have the Middle Harbour Public School community standing beside us.I am incredibly proud that Middle Harbour Public School, believe in standing up for those who can’t always stand for themselves and this year, they are proudly supporting FightMND in their battle against Motor Neurone Disease.
MND is a cruel and relentless disease that gradually takes away a person’s ability to walk, talk, eat, and breathe but not their mind or their memories. Right now, there is no cure. But there is research. There is progress. And most importantly, there are people like the the Middle Harbour Public School community that believes we can make a difference.
This fundraiser is about more than just icy baths and freezing toes, it’s about showing our children what courage, compassion, and community truly look like. It’s about teaching them that even the smallest voices can make a mighty difference when they speak up for what matters.
Every dollar raised helps fund vital research to find treatments and, one day, a cure. Let’s rally together, make some noise, and freeze our bits off for a future without MND.
And let’s be honest isn’t it all worth it just to see Mrs Barry get dunked in an ice bath? Rumour has it she’s pretending not to be nervous… but we all know the splash is coming! Plus you never know who will also get dunked.
