Meandering for Mate

In October 2025, we are taking part in Daniher’s Drive in memory of Geoff Smalley, fondly known to us as "Mate." Mate fought a courageous battle with MND from October 2020 to February 2022, and we are determined to honour his legacy by raising funds to support FightMND in their mission to find effective treatments and, one day, a cure.

We have created a team, Mate’s Crew, to celebrate his life and continue the fight against this relentless disease. We would love for you to join us, by making a donation, attending one of our events, or simply spreading awareness.

Between now and October, we will be sharing Mate’s journey in a way that is raw, honest, and sometimes confronting. We are doing this to help those who have not witnessed MND firsthand understand the true nature of this beast. We are doing it for those currently battling, to remind you that you are not alone in the highs and lows. And we are doing it for ourselves, as a way to process the deep emotions that still linger, to heal, and to keep Mate’s spirit alive.

To help us reach our goal of raising $10,000, we will be hosting several fundraising events between now and October. These will include sports days, dinners, auctions, and family events, just to name a few. We are aiming high, but the cause is worth it. Every dollar raised will go to support the incredible work of FightMND, funding vital research and care for those affected.
