Team Spotlight: Old Crackers' High Tea in the Hangar

expand_more expand_less

On May 21st, one of our newest Daniher’s Drive teams, Old Crackers, hosted a memorable fundraising event – High Tea in the Hangar at the Temora Aviation Museum.  They raised an incredible $4,000 towards their fundraising efforts.

The event welcomed 114 guests and featured a heartfelt address by Jan Sutton, who lost her husband to MND eleven years ago. Jan spoke movingly about the profound impact of MND and the vital role of family and community support. She concluded with powerful words of encouragement:
“To the MND family, keep up the good fight, keep battling this beast – one day we will have a cure for this horrible, horrible disease.”

The team was fortunate to have the support of Year Eleven hospitality students from Temora High School, who assisted with food preparation, serving, and taking orders. Their involvement was invaluable and contributed significantly to the event’s success.

A brilliant effort from Jacinta, Wendy and Sharon, who make up the fabulous Old Crackers team.

Team Spotlight: Annie’s Motley Crew’s Big Freeze in the Marsh

Another incredible year for Big Freeze in The Marsh — an event that’s truly become a local favourite! Annie’s Motley Crew raised over $60,000, thanks to the generosity of amazing sponsors and the overwhelming support of the community, both near and far.

A massive icy slide and 14 brave (and brilliantly costumed) sliders who took the plunge into the freezing pool — all in the name of this great cause!

The sheer scale of this event is truly impressive — from the towering icy slide to the incredible turnout and community spirit, Big Freeze in The Marsh just keeps getting bigger and better every year.

Congrats Annie’s Motley Crew on another amazing year of fundraising.

Team Spotlight: Team Cruising - Snags for a Cause!

On the Big Freeze Day (the Kings Birthday) Team Cruising, Wendy, Joan, Sam, and Rob ably assisted by Emma Gabby Grace Russ and Neville had  a fun day working the sausage sizzle at bunnings Hawthorn. They sold about 700 Sausages and maybe 2 dozen drinks. On the day they took about $3000 including $300 in 3 donations, and costs were about $700. They ran a "Donation Offer" that for a $10 donation you received a free sausage and drink. This raised an additional $300 approximately from people prepared to pay a little extra for the cause.
